Best Paint Job on a Bus Ever!

If the paint job on this bus was intended to first get your attention -- it is a success.

If it was intended to make you more aware of the "ZOO," it succeeded at several levels of consciousness.

If you counted the number of accidents resulting from other drivers and pedestrians staring at the bus instead of paying attention to traffic or where they are driving/walking -- probably not a success.

But it is really a great piece of art.

City Wide Garage Sale

I'm joining:
VTT at Coloradolady

TTF at The Thrifty Groove
NTT at Coastal Charm

Betsy from My Salvaged Treasures gave me a heads up on Tracy's  City Wide Yard Sale that was held last Saturday.
There were 60 some sales registered on the east side!
No, I didn't make it to all of them, I pooped out!
But let me tell you, I went to about 20 or so,
so my Garmin got a workout!!

We're on a tight budget here (like everyone else)
So I had my mind set that I wouldn't spend over $1.00 on any one item.
Yes girls it can be done!
I found quite a few Treasures thanks to Betsy.
Thanks so much Betsy!!

a box of vintage sewing items

cute green watering can (looks cute in the gazebo)
free pine cones (never pass anything free up!)

2 potholders .25 for both!
Some crocheted gloves and yes...
Mom was there with me.
An angel blowing a kiss...
for those of you who don't know/remember why
I collect anything blowing kisses check here
Yes, she has a broken wing, but I still love her ♥♥

a  box of vintage costume jewelry

this gorgeous cake plate with an etched cover
was $1.00! I must have beaten anyone and everything there.
So surprised it was still there when I showed up.

vintage books, an old scrabble game
and that green fabric is a pretty tablecloth

a pretty plate tin,and some tissue paper

an old Singer button hole attachment with all the parts
an other tin with more vintage sewing items

2 rolls of wrapping paper

They are too pretty for gifts (LOL)

they will be turned into something, just not sure what yet.

one never opened

Yep, I'm a happy camper!!
Thanks again Betsy!!

Quick and Inexpensive Last Minute Easter Favors

Spring/Easter makes me feel like every thing's new and fresh.
That's why I like to send my guests home from Easter Dinner with a plant.
It just seems right to me.

So this year when my mind went to plants,
my pocketbook didn't follow.

I needed to think up a way to put together something inexpensive
so I could continue with my tradition.

I was at Walmart (what the heck would I do without that store?)
perusing the garden section when I saw they had 6 packs on sale.
I grabbed a couple of Petunias

and headed inside to find peat pots.

Once I got home I gave each peat pot a paint job in various colors.
While waiting for them to dry,
I hopped on the computer to check out my Graphics.

Printed out some Easter Graphics
and once the pots were dry, glued them on

The next day I transplanted the Petunias into their own pots.
I tore a coffee filter up and placed a piece in the bottom of each pot to prevent the dirt from coming out but still allowing for complete drainage.

There ya go!
A buck a 6 pack, peat pots $1.59,
12 plant favors for under $4.00 ♥♥

There's a Song in the Air

I'm joining:

Fertilizer Friday at Tootsie Time

Spring Cottage Garden Party over at Etsy Cottage Style

I have been waking up every morning with this
lovely Mockingbird serenading me ♥♥
I love him...or her.

It sits on top of my neighbors fruit tree

which is near by bedroom window.

The past few years it sat on the street light in front of our home

I wonder is it knows there is one less in the house?

All I know is it feels very comfortable there
and wakes me with a song that puts a smile on my face.

All my citrus are in full bloom
and they smell heavenly!

Lemon

Lime

Orange

My Cecil Brunner Rose has been showing off.
The scent is spectacular when you walk into the gazebo!

Most of the Roses are budding out

These guys were all a chatter when I was outside.

I think they were happy that I removed all there Winter coverings

and did some Spring cleaning in their aviary

Guess Katie needs a drink ;)

It seems I find something new blooming everyday.
I love this time of year!
