My Crafty Nooks

I'm joining Karen over at My Desert Cottage for her
fourth annual
"Where Bloggers Create" party!
Hop over and check it out!

Welcome to my Creative Space

My bedroom does double duty as my crafting area. So, although things can get a little  real crazy when I'm working on more than one project at a time, I know think I know where everything is.

My inspiration and idea wall. Trunks/suitcases from my family hold a variety of things...from old photos to my children's Graduation mementos

I love this strand of rhinestones that my Grandmother
salvaged off a piece of clothing

Next to the trunks/suitcases I have an old Pattern cabinet my Dad brought home years ago when remodeling the local JC Penney's store.
The drawers are filled with goodies.

Sands, Sweet Annie, Sea Glass,

Stamps, Inks

Ribbons, Trims and more misc.

Baskets along top of my high boy keep millinery, silk flowers, and baskets.
Drawers are filled with paints, ephemera and other supplies.
The spice rack to the left holds crafting fragrances,

glitters, and more along with tags from friends.

This would be one of those times I mentioned when I'm working
on several projects at a time.....
messiness  creativity

But at least I know where my marbles are!!
I mean, just in case I loose one..some.

Next to the high boy I have my work table

Hanging in the right corner is a 3 tier basket which holds all
my adhesives and design scissors.
It also acts as a drying station and another place
for more of those inspiration photos and drawings.

On the bottom right of the photo you will notice a Rabbit Feeder holds my paint brushes. Yep, painted it white and added a rose decal.
The ring exterior ring holds my jewelry pliers, cutters, etc.

Under the table has more storage hidden by some shutters

Another Rabbit Feeder (this one was just dry brushed with white) acts as a glue stick dispenser and also holds my glue gun.
I lve using things from my parents farm,
I'm sentimental that way ;)

A shelf in my vanity area holds old mason jars filled with vintage laces, rusty bells and keys, along with mementos that act as inspiration.

My latest creation.

This is my latest project...as soon as I find time to start it.
Wanna know what it's gonna be?

you'll have to wait and find out

I love this little end table. I got it at a yard sale a few years ago. Fell in lve with the color and the lines and when the lady said $3.00, I tried to not act shocked! I immediately put it aside for safe keeping until I was done looking ;)

More supplies hide in boxes on shelf.
The Rose Garland on top of the white wicker basket hides supplies inside.

Sewing supplies in the drawer.

My bed has drawers under it where I keep: empty jars, mosses, crepe paper, fiberfill, Styrofoam shapes, and more.
In my closet I have those big plastic bins with scraps of all kinds of fabric. Why and I am saving those I don't know! There's just something that makes me smile when I go through them. Some of the fabric scraps were from my Mother and Grandmother, who both sewed a lot.

A bakers rack fits just right in a nook between my bed and closet.
Lots of my parents and grandparents old mason jars line the shelves.

They hold an array of supplies; from buttons ~ sorted by color, to dried flowers from my Son's Wedding,

gorgeous white feathers, wine ;) corks, rhinestones, etc.
Special gifts from special people in my life also find this area home.

So that's about it.
Hope you enjoyed the tour!

What is on the wall of the Dam?

What is that on the wall of the Dam?

This is the Diga del Cingino dam in Italy -
Can you see the little dots on the wall?

You'll never guess what they are..

YOU'RE KIDDING!

They are European Ibex and they like to eat the moss & lichen growing on the wall.

They also are licking the salt off the stone..

Isn't that incredible they can stand at that angle???

What is Your favorite movie?

Received this from my sister and had to share ♥
Thanks S!

MATH QUIZ: Reveals your favorite movie!!

I am very good at math, so I did it in my head, then on paper, and finally on a calculator just to confirm my numerical capabilities.

Each time I got the same answer, and sure enough it IS my very favorite movie EVER!

DO NOT cheat and scroll down to the movies. Do YOUR math, THEN compare the results to the list of movies at the bottom

You will be AMAZED at how scary true and accurate this test is

1. Pick a number from 1-9.

2. Multiply that number by 3.

3. Add 3.

4. Multiply by 3 again.

5. Your total will be a two digit number. Add the first and second digits together to find your favorite movie (of all time) in the list of 17 movies below:

Movie List:

1. Gone With the Wind

2. E.T.

3. Blazing Saddles

Blog Hop and Memory Box Tutorial

Memory box, trinket, box, jewelry box, treasure box, whatever you want to call it, is as easy to make as it is useful.

You can recycle whatever you have on hand
to make this elegant little keepsake.
A cigar box, empty tin, anything with a bottom and top.

This is also a great project to keep the kiddos busy during Summer break.
Several could be made for each special place they visit or vacation.

The fun part is deciding a theme and  collecting trinkets to glue on the lid.
Maybe shells from a trip to the beach,
broken jewelry,
Cracker Jack prizes,
any of the small items you've been saving for "something"...

Glue on lid in a pleasing pattern.
If you have a container with a hinged lid,
you can add a length of ribbon to the inside front of the lid and bottom
for tying closed.
You can line your container, if you like, with fabric or paper
or leave unlined.

When you are all done with your embellishing, allow to dry overnight.
Choose gold, silver or any desired color spray paint
and spray several light coats until all is covered.
Let dry thoroughly.

Stand back and admire your beautiful Treasure Chest ♥♥

Box with hinged lid.
