DeWalt Nail Gun

A must have in every home in America!
For everyone who would rather not have a gun in the house!

In view of the recent Supreme Court ruling, sales of this new product may skyrocket.

Washington thinks they are going to take away our guns, so check this out. I like it!

NAIL GUNS! AND, you don't even have to REGISTER them or have LICENSES for them!

AND, you don't have to worry about them being CONCEALED!

Just a LOT of good stuff to do with THIS!

Once in awhile something so totally cool comes out that even a guy who doesn't normally even know what he'd like for Christmas would immediately ask for it:

Thank you, DeWalt!!!

New Nail Gun, made by DeWalt.

It can drive a 16-D nail through a 2x4 at 200 yards.

This makes construction a breeze; you can sit in your lawn chair and build a fence.

Hundred round magazine.

Someone invades your home, just nail his ass.

Hey Hey!

Granted there's not much but me thinks Spring is coming!

Something is happy and sprouting.
(can't remember what is planted here) :/

A Geranium blooms among WEEDS,
which is what the gardens are mostly consisting of right now.

That's it, I did say a little garden life.
Actually it was just too cold to stay out any longer.
I've been sick and am finally feeling better, so didn't want to stay out any longer than necessary ;)

Wishing everyone a fun weekend!
Stay warm!!

A Love Poem

I will seek and find you
I shall take you to bed and have my way with you.
I will make you ache, shake & sweat until you moan & groan.
I will make you beg for mercy, beg for me to stop.
I will exhaust you to the point that you will be relieved when I'm
finished with you.

And, when I am finished, you will be weak for days.
All my love,*The Flu*
How sweet......NOT!
I never get sick! Well, never say never.
It's been a little over a week now and am starting to get my bearings back. Cough, congestion, sleepless nights and days, restless, fever...just to name a few of the more pleasant ones.....believe me I don't want to go into the others any more than you want me too.
After a while the OTC meds started irritating my stomach....which is something new for me.  Tried and true Dayquil and NyQuil let me down on this one, I'm sad to say.  And let me tell you I'm sick of Hall's cough drops..altho they did help my throat, cough and stuffiness.

I decided to hit up Pinterest for some ideas.
Yes I ate Chicken Soup and drank lots of fluids, tried to get lots of rest but couldn't sleep.

Here are some I found should any of you need them:

I've heard of Honey before, but I really don't like it. After reading about how Honey can boost immunity and is a good tonic, I thought I better give it a try. It also has antioxidant properties, which help to prevent many chronic diseases and can be used as a remedy for sore throat. It was OK but if didn't seem to last long.

I’m sure we’ve all used a saltwater gargle while suffering from throat pain, but you can take this idea one step further and help get rid of congestion in the throat, as well.
Add 1 Tbsp lemon juice and 2 tsp honey to warm water. Mix well and allow to cool until tepid. Gargle with the mixture for 20-30 seconds, just as you would a saltwater gargle. This worked quite well since it wasn't as thick as the Honey alone.

Onions?
Before you go to bed, cut an onion into quarters and leave it on a plate at your bedside,
OK this one I skipped. My eyes were watery enough with inhaling anything to make them weep more!

Elderberry Syrup and Hot Peppers were another two I passed on.
I don't have Elderberries growing in my yard and I don't think my stomach could handle the Hot Peppers.......

Then my Daughter reminded me of a concoction my Mother In Law always told us about and when the kids were little used whenever they got sick.
She called it Tea Kettle Tea.

About  1/2 to 3/4 cup of warm milk in a cup
fill the rest with warm water
add a pinch of sugar and mix well.
AND yes, of course, it made me feel a lot better.
Warm and soothing for my throat, didn't bother my stomach, and warmed me when my fever went up.

It's much easier to take than what my Dad would have recommended...
A Hot Toddy!
He used to drink those when he was sick. I figured after a few you didn't care if you were sick or not! LOL

Hot Toddy for Colds and Flu
2 ounces whiskey
1 tablespoon honey
4 ounces water (hot from the tap)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 slice fresh lemon (optional)

Directions:

  1. Place the whiskey in a large microwave safe mug.
  2. Add the honey.
  3. Pour the hot water into the mug over the spoon you used for the honey to get off the last little drops.
  4. Add the lemon juice and stir well.
  5. Place the mug in the microwave for 1 minute or until it is piping hot, but not boiling.
  6. Add the lemon slice and serve.
So there you have it...some ideas should you need them

Chritsmas 2012

OK OK I know I'm late. Seems I've turned into the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland lately...always running late. I blame it on age...and I'm sticking to it :)

Just a few pics of the family to share:

 Cousin Chris
Rascal my cousin Judy and Ron's pup
 Tearing open gifts

Everyone modeling their tiny Santa Hats

Wait, how'd the Grinch get in there?!

Bird Cages

OK, I have a thing for bird cages...actually I have a "thing" for a lot of things!
But today it's all about birdcages.

I have them all over. In my bedroom, in the gardens, front and back....you get the idea ;)

This one is hanging in my vanity area.
Mama Quail sits patiently by her nest full of eggs ;)

This is my favorite. It belonged to my Grandmother.
It sits a top all my parents traveling trunks.
An angel blowing kisses relaxes amongst
pretty pink rose petals.
Angels or anything for that matter that blows kisses has a special meaning to me. You can read about it here

This pretty aqua cage was found in a field on the back roads one day. I brought if home and put it to good use on the deck
I know this is supposed to be about my vintage birdhouses, but had to stick this little kiss blowing gal in. She sits along the Fairy Walk blowing kisses to whoever passes.

This sweet old bird cage was free at a yard sale many years ago.
Yes, another "kiss blower" sits inside surrounded by impatiens
She found her way onto a stump in the front garden under the arbor. She too blows kisses to whoever comes to the front door.
I have many more bird cages but I think this is probably enough for today.
Wishing all a wonderful week!

*hugs*
