Sea Salt Bath Soak

The hustle and bustle of the holidays can lead to some achy muscles. If you could use some relief, Toilet Tree Products has whipped up a recipe for a Homemade Sea Salt Soak to ease the tension in your muscles, relax your mind and help you unwind.
This recipe is a 2:1 ratio of Epsom Salts to Sea Salt, so it is scalable to whatever amount you need. This recipe is just enough for one bath. Try using different essential oil combinations to suit your mood, stick on a label and have on hand when you need them!

What you’ll need:

  • 2 cups plain Epsom Salts
  • 1 cup Sea Salt or Kosher Salt
  • A few drops of essential oil (optional) – See chart below for our favorite combinations
  • A few drops of food coloring (optional)
  • Glass Jar
  • Bowl
  • Spoon
Mix salts together in a bowl. Add essential oils and food coloring and mix. Pour into your jar and screw cap on tightly. Do not store the mason jar in the bathroom if you’re using the metal bands and lid, as it will rust.
When using, add to hot water and soak for at least 12 minutes and for best results, soak at least 3 times per week. Following your soak, moisturize your skin with a natural oil, like coconut oil, avocado oil, sweet almond oil, or jojoba oil.
This soak is also a great for tired, achy feet. It reduces swelling and can nix foot odor. Pat dry afterwards, lotion up with a good foot cream and apply socks before bedtime. You’ll wake up with much happier, and prettier feet.

Makes a great gift and bridal shower favor
(add salts to a glass jelly jar with a pretty label and ribbon).
