      They are for 45rpm records. The records, which had one song on each side, had a large hole in the middle. You inserted these into the hole in order to play the smaller record on your record player. Large albums/records that had several songs on both sides had smaller holes and the record players spindle were made to fit those with the smaller holes.

    I remember some of these especially the middles for single records our juke boxes were similar too :-)
