No Care Hanging Flower Pot

I wanted some colorful flowers hanging from the deck roof.
Problem is our Summer temps can reach 100* +, so keeping potted plants,
especially hanging ones, from drying out is difficult.
Not wanting to spend much if anything, I just used what I had.

I found an old ugly plastic pot from a previous plant purchase
and thought I could cover it to make it look better.

Out comes my hot glue gun and some burlap trim I picked up at
Dollar Tree last year sometime. I started covering the container
winging it as I went, gluing where needed.

I started just inside the rim
Then brought the trim over the rim to cover it.

The trim was approx. 4" wide,
wide enough to cover the inside top and over the rim.

I flipped the pot over to start covering the bottom section.

I wanted to cover the seam where the pieces of trim met.
I found a similar trim with lace that I
hot glued to cover the seam.

Had my fingers crossed the hole time with both trims,
hoping I had enough to cover the container.

Next I placed what Styrofoam I had in the bottom
and started adding all the faux flowers inserting them into the Styrofoam

Sticking the taller ones in the center

and shorter ones around the sides

I used S hooks to grab the rim,
then added chain to hang it

Not bad for just using what I had
Didn't spend a penny
and this will need no watering during our hot Summer!

  4. Very pretty and a perfect solution for a spot where real plants just won't thrive.
