A Garden in Motion and I won!!

To me a garden isn't a garden without birdsong.
Sparrows,

Goldfinches,

House Finches,
Bluejays,

and other assorted birds are frequent visitors
especially when the wild Sunflowers go to seed.

And adding some of your own doesn't hurt either ;)
My Parakeets in the outside aviary my Dad made before I was born.

Other  natural activity makes the garden alive.
Love my Dragonflies

My photo made it into

Praying Mantis have been considered beneficial
but they also eat other beneficials.
They are still cool though.

Adding a water element makes your garden serene.
The Koi in my pond can make a bad day brighter.
By simply watching them it relaxes me.
Watching fish in aquariums have been proven to
reduce high blood pressure and stress,
I would imagine these would too.

My largest Butterfly Koi, "Angel"
I love to watch her fins float and
move so effortlessly in the water.

My other  Koi

This one is a 3 year old baby that was born here in the pond.

Angel and one of my Sister's babies she gave me
that is about 7 yrs old

 Feeding time :)

The whitish one is a sibling to the other baby from my Sister.
If you look close you can see an all black baby in the center of this photo. It was born last Spring, a year old now. A surprise since it's so dark we didn't even know it was in there until it grew!

The Falls drowns out most of the neighborhood noise.

And of course I couldn't leave out Boris, his feelings would be hurt. Natasha is hiding out. It's "The Season of Love" and Boris has only one thing on his mind!

  6. butterfly koi seem to lack some of the body size of regular koi, but the overall fish can run as long as 36 to 40 inches in the right pond

    1. Love Butterfly Koi. Unfortunately, Raccoons found my pond several times over the last few years. Lost most of my Koi. Tried anything and everything to dissuade them. Sadly the Coons became to comfortable - they were even attacking us as we tried to get in our car. The guns had to come out. These little bandits that I loved as a child, has turned to hate as an adult. Hopefully this year I've found an answer to keeping them at bay.
