A Garden in Bloom

I'm joining these parties:

Fishtail Cottage

Tootsie Time

Rose Vignettes

We have been having unusually mild weather lately.
In fact, we had sprinkles yesterday.
Keeping my fingers crossed it stays like this until after my Son's wedding.
It will be so much more enjoyable than temps in the 100's.

My Hollyhocks are blooming ☺

Yep, missed cutting the Asparagus when it was ready.
It sure gets ferny

Ahhh, the Honeysuckle is still blooming ♥♥♥

The Petunias are kind of at a standstill,
they would rather have the hotter weather.

My Balloon Flower is back!
I thought I lost it, but it surprised me.

A big hunk of cement with inlaid rock,
it will become a stepping stone...
somewhere.

Ahh morning rays....

Here Lambie..
their in there somewhere

Old rescued bush Roses in bloom

Big heads of Hydrangea

What else would I pick for a simple and gorgeous bouquet but Honeysuckle?
While it's in bloom I need to get my fill of that gorgeous aroma!
Not that I ever will ;)

Happy Gardening!

A Short Test for My Intellectual Friends

How do YOU pronounce Oklahoma?
Do you think it's correct?
There is a right way and a wrong way to pronounce Oklahoma.

If you say OK...LAHOMA
You're WRONG.

The proper way is:
OKLA .....HOMA.
There's a gap between the 'a' and the 'h'.

I can prove it.....................

There, you learned
something today!

I do love these educational
posts.... Don't you?

Slow but sure, is they way I've been going through "the boxes."
It has paid off..I can see the bottoms!!
It's so fun to unpack and rediscover all the Treasures inside them.

This is what I've recently dug out....

Wexford Claret Wine Glasses (60's),
Big Top Peanut Butter Gothic Sherbets by Hazel Atlas (50's)
Clipper Ship Mugs, a brass enameled bowl
and those fab cups shown in the center!

Maybe you're into ceramic/porcelain/bisque Doll heads

Or pristine white Milk Glass!
by
Indiana Glass, Hazel Atlas or Anchor Hocking
from the 30's-50's

These Hex Optic Carnival Glass Water Tumblers
in Marigold are from the 1940's

Cute Trinket Box, stone Owl,
a lost Joseph and Cow from a Nativity,
and an old Bank.

The I saw this precious little babe.
Isn't she so sweet?
Made by Bradley Exclusives.

OK I'm jumping back into the boxes,
Check back to see what I find!

Have a great day

Happy Memorial Day!

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Let's not forget all who have kept us free.

Happy Memorial Day!!
