I'm joining for Tootsie Time Fertilizer Friday.
The gardens are winding down for sure,
cooler days with much cooler nights.
Although it's to go up this weekend into the 90's,
so Summer isn't quite ready to relinquish control yet.
The Lantana I rescued from
Walmart's clearance - buy before I die - section
is finally doing well.
By next Summer she will be really filled in and sprawling.
Love her color.
Grape Hyacinths are sprouting.
Why do they always come to the top of the soil?
I planted them at the proper depth.
I cover them every year only to have them
pop up in the Fall.
The Lisianthis is enjoying the cooler temperatures.
I had to show you this little Pelargonium that has sprouted -
probably from a cutting/trimming.
It's so tiny (maybe 3" tall) and it's blooming!
My daughter's cat, Mommy Kitty, came out with me.
She's stopped to smell the Roses Pinks.

I was going to buy some Lantana at Home Depot but it was so expensive and looked awful. I will keep looking for some.

ReplyDeleteThere have been times that I've had Grape Hyacinths bloom both in the Spring , and again in the Fall. We'll see what happens this year. Mommy Kitty is such a pretty Girl : )

ReplyDeleteGrape Hyacinths always put up their leaves in the fall and flower in the spring. That is normal. Thanks for sharing. Happy Gardening.

ReplyDelete'Buy before I die' that is hilarious (and so true) and the way I have come to own many a wonderful plant, too! You have one determined little pelargonium there, blooming already at that size. Love your daughter's Mommy Kitty--she would be the perfect complement to my Screech (all black). And I get a bit cross with the grape hyacinths too, I know it's their normal growth habit, but where I have them planted (in a walkway? what was I thinking??) their foliage doesn't do much for the looks of things, so I guess I'm going to have to move them. Have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteHi Deb, Thanks for stopping by,and for the heads up on the comment thing ????? Just checked all my settings , they're o.k. I tend to think it may have something to do with the Pyzam background. Reason being,to add that background you have to go into "edit html" and Delete the entire code, not added in as a widget. That blog was started as an experiment for the background because I didn't want to risk it with an established blog. If something would have went wrong I would have Freaked !! lol I'm always fiddeling with the backgrounds, that one took me months to figure out what exactly "they" were saying to do , because I'm computer illiterate ......lol anyway....., Thanks for your Lovely comment,I'm not too shabbey with the photos, writing on the other hand well...let's say does Not come naturally ...hahaha So a Big Thanks for the compliment ; ) You have a Great Weekend : )

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the pics, everything in your garden looks very nice. I just love lantana's. I have several in my flowerbeds, and they do so well. Yes, for many the gardening is winding down, but for here in Houston, TX I still have a few months still.
it is all just wonderful...I love Lantana...and my favorite is watching the pets smell the flowers...that is a great shot of mommy kitty...it made me remember how Miss Poo used to walk around and smell all the flowers at nose level...It is wonderful how even they stop to appreciate our gardens! this was a beautiful flaunt...thanks for linking in to FF today

Lantana is a favourite I use in a container that's in full sun.
