I've been focusing so much on my unwanted visitor,
I decided it was time to do the opposite for Mosaic Monday
over at Little Red House. Please visit Mary our hostess for more Mosaics.
Much more welcomed visitors:
It's Metamorphosis Monday with Susan over at Between Naps on the Porch and my first time linking up with Wendy for Frugal Friday at The Shabby Nest and Cindy for Make it for Monday at Cottage Instincts.
Be sure to pop in and see the transformations!
I found Formica samples in my Treasure Pile and had a thought...I know dangerous!
It went from this to this...
Yep, a Christmas Ornament!
Here is what I did....
Brushed on Mod Podge to the sample,
added some paper for the background
Found an image I liked and printed then cut it out.
Glued it on, embellished with vintage lace, ribbon, trims, stones, etc.
I also had smaller ones I decorated and embellished.
Love how they turned out!! Some are for sale on Ebay and Etsy.
Clever use for Formica samples! Lovely Christmas ornaments!!! I missed MMonday today - maybe I'll join in again next week.

How creative you are ;-)
ReplyDeleteWish I had the patience to make such things, but alas ... I no longer do much in the way of crafts. I love your marvelous mosaic!
Hugs and blessings,
How neat is that, a dragonfly at the palm of the hand!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! I know I have some formica samples around here somewhere....great idea :)
ReplyDeletethanks for linking up...
Love your ornaments! So pretty (and clever). Sorry to hear about your masked visitor. They are just so adorable though...can't help but love them, even though they can be such a bother. We had a Mama possum who thought it would be a good idea to shack up in our garage last winter...possum are not so adorable. We were able to chase her out, keep the garage door shut, and thankfully she never came back. Hopefully your little guy takes the hint too!
ReplyDeleteOh us bloggers are so creative. I love all the great ideas I come across. Job well done.
ReplyDeleteI had a whole chain full of those things and finally threw them away!
ReplyDeleteShould have hung on to them!!
Cute!
Rhonda
