Slow but sure, is they way I've been going through "the boxes."
It has paid off..I can see the bottoms!!
It's so fun to unpack and rediscover all the Treasures inside them.

This is what I've recently dug out....

Wexford Claret Wine Glasses (60's),
Big Top Peanut Butter Gothic Sherbets by Hazel Atlas (50's)
Clipper Ship Mugs, a brass enameled bowl
and those fab cups shown in the center!

Maybe you're into ceramic/porcelain/bisque Doll heads

Or pristine white Milk Glass!
by
Indiana Glass, Hazel Atlas or Anchor Hocking
from the 30's-50's

These Hex Optic Carnival Glass Water Tumblers
in Marigold are from the 1940's

Cute Trinket Box, stone Owl,
a lost Joseph and Cow from a Nativity,
and an old Bank.

The I saw this precious little babe.
Isn't she so sweet?
Made by Bradley Exclusives.

OK I'm jumping back into the boxes,
Check back to see what I find!

Have a great day

Happy Memorial Day!

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Let's not forget all who have kept us free.

Happy Memorial Day!!

Etsy Cottage Colors Party~Yellow

Joining in on the party at the Etsy Cottage Style Blog.
Yellow is the color for May

After looking around my home,
I realized I don't have many yellow treasures.

But do not fear...
I did find a few to share

Wishing all a Safe, Happy and Fun Holiday Weekend!

The Most UNWANTED Shower EVER!!!

I woke up this morning to the Mockingbirds singing, even their baby was screeching out a few notes.

All was right with the world.

I thought how great it would be to scramble up some eggs, grab a glass of juice and sit in the gazebo with my new Country Living.

But before I could indulge myself in such pleasures I needed to do chores.
I gave the dogs and cats their daily medications
and proceeded outside to feed the dogs.
Once done, I looked up to see the pond needed filling

and that the potted plants needed a drink too.
As I turned on the spigot out of the corner of my eye I saw a group of plants near the back fence that didn't look as good as they should.
Realizing the neighbors Weeping Willow

had grown to block their sun I decided it needed pruning.
I dug out my loppers and went to town.
Yes, of course, I fell a couple of times skinning my legs
(won't they look lovely for the wedding?)
But that didn't deter me.
I've fought with this Willow many a times before
and it wasn't going to get the best of me yet.

I climbed into the Tortoise's area to get a better angle.
I was hacking and chopping and stretching and reaching, and yes, probably grunting when I heard a noise coming from the fence behind me.
I figured it was my other neighbor and carried on.
All of a sudden I felt sprinkling.
I thought he had set up a sprinkler
and it was coming over the fence.
Then it hit me...it was warm.

I looked up and there from on top of the fence,
was a stray cat staring back at me.
We stared at each other
for what seemed like forever.
I was shocked! A cat SPRAYED me!!!
Not in one spot sprayed me, but from my hair and
glasses to my shorts sprayed me!
I finally came to my senses,
hit the fence knocking the cat off.

I thought I could finish up the last bit of what I was doing when
that pungent aroma hit my nostrils.

NOPE! Done for the day!
Ran in and hit the shower and scrubbed like there was no tomorrow.

Needless to say the idea of relaxing in the gazebo has been replaced with doing laundry.

***Warning to all gardeners***

When working outside near a fence always have a look out!!

Potatoes........

A Girl Potato and Boy Potato had eyes for each other,
and finally they got married, and had a little sweet
potato, which they
called 'Yam'.

Of course, they wanted the best for Yam.

When it was time, they told her
about the facts of life.

They warned her about going out and getting
half-baked, so she wouldn't get accidentally mashed,
and get a bad name for herself like 'Hot Potato,' and
end up with a bunch of Tater Tots.

Yam said not to worry, no Spud would get her
into the sack and make a rotten potato out of her!

But on the other hand she wouldn't stay home
and become a Couch Potato either.
She would get plenty of exercise so as not
to be skinny like her Shoestring Cousins.

When she went off to Europe, Mr. And Mrs. Potato told Yam to
watch out for the hard-boiled guys from Ireland .
And the
greasy guys from France called the French Fries.

And when she went out West, to watch out
for the Indians so she wouldn't get scalloped.

Yam said she would stay on the straight and
narrow and wouldn't associate with
those high class Yukon Golds, or the ones
from the other side of the tracks
who advertise their trade on all
the trucks that say,
'Frito Lay.'

Mr. And Mrs. Potato sent Yam to
Idaho P.U. (that's Potato University ).
So that when she graduated she'd really
be in the Chips.

But in spite of all they did for
her, one-day Yam came home
and announced she was
going to marry Tom Brokaw.

Tom Brokaw!

Mr. and Mrs. Potato were very upset.

They told Yam she couldn't
possibly marry
Tom Brokaw

Because he's just.......

Are you

ready for this?

Are

you sure?

The Butterfly is Free!

I'm Joining:

Fishtail Cottage

Tootsie Time

When I got up the other morning I heard a fluttering
and saw this little guy between the window and screen.
Needless to say,
I HAD to get a photo before I rescued him.
I safely took him outside where he flew away happily

We have had rain off and on over the past week.
I think the Sun is ready to go to work now.

The Impatiens in the bird cage are doing well.
Won't be long until they sneak through the bars.

Lots of things are in bloom,

including the Pond Iris and the old Rose behind it.

The Sweet Peas reseed themselves all over.
You never know where they will pop up...
I love that!

Feverfew in full bloom.

A Rose that I can't remember where I got it from....hmm
Pretty tho

A Lavender Trumpet Vine my sister and her husband
gave me a few Easters ago.

I love the delicate color.

Apple Blossom Carpet Roses

My kiddos gave me a beautiful bulb basket for Mother's Day.
They weren't all quite open so I set them outside for a couple days.

Where they opened beautifully!
Thank you!

Yes, we have been having mild weather...
just right for relaxing in the warmth of the Sun

or napping on the deck.

With this cheerful photo I will bid adieu and

wish all a Wonderful and Happy Holiday Weekend!
