Treasure Hunt

I am participating in Today's Thrifty Treasures,
over at Rhoda's Southern Hospitality.
Don't forget to head over there to see what everyone else found.

I am also bragging about my finds over at Etsy Cottage style Blog
for "Show Off Monday"
After passing up about half a dozen yard sales be cause there wasn't anything but a couple tables with clothes, My daughter & I hit upon a gold mine!
You know the ones, you see them & can't get there fast enough. My heart starts beating fast...yes, I love the hunt!
A huge yard & shed to dive into. Boxes & boxes to go through.
Here are just a tiny bit of what I captured. I haven't cleaned any of it up yet, so please forgive ;)
One of the first things I spied was this darling little table.
I originally bought it to list on eBay...but I've fallen in love!
Not sure where it will go....but somewhere it will!
Don't you love the color? and with the white peeking through :~)
Love the shape of the legs too...$3 can you believe that?!
Another box of goodies (10-50 cents)

These teeny glass Ornaments will find their way to eBay.

A great pair of Shutters ($1)
I even scored a sweet hat for my Sister who collects vintage hats (50 cents) I filled the back of my van up with Treasure....good til next weekend! Among the haul are these 2 enamelware cups (25 cents for both), darling little boots (50 cents)(they will be turned into some kind of holiday decoration), a humongous 1938 Webster's Unabridged Dictionary (50 cents), and aren't those hair clips (she thru them in) to die for ?

They're to stay on the one's I can't reach, that's the deal.
hmmph!
He's hiding between the 2 figs, little devil!
Sunflower seeds anyone?
Even a Goldfinch stopped by :)
Fishy's are hungry too!

Fall Backgrounds

The weather seems to be changing just a bit. A little cooler evenings...
Our mind turns to warmer cozier colors. The reds, oranges, browns of Fall.
Changing seasons means time for a change in backgrounds.
Here's a few to get you in the mood.
Grab a cup of tea and enjoy =)

Bathroom Makeover

I've finally finished the hall bath makeover!
It was looking a little tired...or maybe I was a little tired of looking at it ;~)

Enough of the Miami Beach Peach and Teal.
Goodbye stenciling....

Hello Jade Sea and White!

What a little paint can do!
The wall basket started out a dingy pink from a Yard Sale (.50), painted white and filled with Starfish, it looks right at home.

Brought a port hole from another room in the house and inserted a photo I took of a Jellyfish at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Changed the Switch Plate from Shells to "Bead Board". A little decoupage goes along way.

Shells, Sea Glass and Soaps in my Grandmothers Mason Jars.

The Sandcastle from the Thrift Store (.50), the dome from a Garage Sale ($1), and the vintage aqua Fransicanware Saucer from an Estate Sale (.10) A look you love...priceless!

Some things moved on, some stayed and went white.....the Conchs from Key West...Keepers!

It has a few more tweaks but for the most part it's done!

~~Coming~~
What you can do to cabinets that you can't paint....

If you enjoyed this post, you may enjoy these :)
Lots of home decor items in my shop

Chocolate Calculation

YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH
Don't tell me your age; you'd probably lie anyway-but the Hershey Man will know! YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH
This is pretty neat. DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST! It takes less than a minute. Work this out as you read. Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out! This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.
1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate (more than once but less than 10)
2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)
3. Add 5
4. Multiply it by 50 -- I'll wait while you get the calculator
5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1759 ..
If you haven't, add 1758.
6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.
You should have a three digit number
The first digit of this was your original number
(i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each week).
The next two numbers are
YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)
THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2009) IT WILL EVER WORK,
SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS.
The Chocolate Calculator.
